Welcome to Malathe!
Our journey began beneath the waves off the coast of the Red Sea, where we discovered a vibrant underwater paradise teeming with life and colour. Fish and corals more brilliant than any painter's palette captivated us.
But a decade later, our return revealed a haunting silence. The once lively corals were now skeletons, and the brilliant fish had vanished. The view was as if someone had reduced the saturation. The beauty we remembered was just a memory, and the place that once sheltered countless creatures had faded.
That's when the idea of "Malathe" was born.
At that moment, beneath the surface, with the silence of a once vibrant orchestra, we realised the ocean is a reflection of us, of our time, our actions. Malathe, meaning safe haven, became our promise to protect the ocean and nature.
What is the meaning of Malathe?
MALATHE pronounced as "MA-LA-THEE", comes from the Arabic word ملاذ and translates to safe haven. This name symbolises our commitment to our planet, reflecting our promise to cherish our nature.
Our Promise
Our jewellery is a tribute to the beauty of our world and our vow to protect it. Each piece represents our connection with the world. It's for the edgy soul who takes a stance and dares to be different.
Building a sustainable future
At Malathe, our main aim is to become one of the industry's biggest forces for raising awareness around the sustainability challenges facing the world today and in the future.
As a new business, we started our journey by dedicating the two main collections, Flora and Knoty, to shed light on the challenges facing our Oceans and trees.
As Malathe evolves, we are committed to dedicating a significant amount of our time, resources, and efforts to continue raising awareness.
We aim to achieve this by continuing to use sustainable materials, reducing our emissions and also engaging with influencers, utilising our channels, and building a community with a meaningful impact.
